Landing page or business website: which to choose

How a landing page, a multi-page website and an online store differ, and which format suits your business.
What a landing page is
A landing page is a single page that leads a visitor to one action: message you on WhatsApp, leave a request or book. Everything else is removed, so people do not get lost and decide quickly.
A landing page fits if:
- You have one main service or product
- You are launching ads and want requests right away
- You need to test demand for a new direction
- A fast launch matters — in 7–10 days
What a business website is
It is several pages: home, services, prices, work, contacts. Such a site works like an online office: a client calmly learns everything about the company, and search engines see a separate page for each service.
A business website fits if:
- You have several services and each needs its own description
- Clients look for you on Google and Yandex
- You need to show your work, prices and answers to common questions
- You want to change texts, prices and photos yourself in a control panel
What if you sell products?
If you have dozens or hundreds of products, you need an online store: a catalogue with filters, a cart, online payment and order notifications. Customers place orders themselves, without back-and-forth messages.
Choose with three questions
- How many services or products do you have? One service — a landing page, several — a business website, a catalogue — an online store.
- Where will clients come from? From ads — a landing page, from search — a business website.
- Do you need to sell online? If yes — an online store.
Starting with a landing page and growing into a full website later is a normal path. The key is to plan a structure that can grow from the start.
